2009 saw the event reach the maximum numbers we could cope with and this has brought about strict limits which will have to be imposed in the future especially for team entries on the final day.

  • 19 two person teams,  -

  • 11 three person teams  -

  • 13 five person teams   -

will be the maximum accepted. We realise this will not allow the same flexibility we have given In the past but will continue to be as accommodating as possible. The entry form asks about attendance at the final night Ceilidh as places for this will be limited

Still to be detailed will be the awarding of medals for all individual marathon runners and overall prizes for people participating all week. The fancy dress at the target zero will also be better recognised.

The visitors book and after event correspondence is summed up by Iain Morrice from Balerno in Lothian “I completed my first Cape Wrath Challenge Marathon this year (2010). Firstly, I must say that the organisation and the friendliness will stay with me forever. The people helping you, the marshals and the backup people were brilliant. The route is brilliant and the views breathtaking. The girls on the quad bikes were great and really boosted you along as you were running. The marshals were mad in a very positive way, when I asked for a pint of Heavy they replied, only cans available here. The other runners were all cheery and it seemed that everyone was enjoying themselves. I will be back next year and hope to meet up with people I met this year.

I have many highlights of the area but the best one was stopping at the bridge at 20 miles and watching 2 cuckoo’s in courtship flying over a golden sandy beach with the hills ablaze with yellow whin and blue skies above. Life does not get much better than that, Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience.”
